Good for the Good

Dear Eagle Strong Voice:

and dear Olympic Coalition of Protest:

and dear Ms. Aspden:

The power of Protest is honorable if two principle parameters are followed: first you identify the good that you seek, and then you identify the evil you seek to convert to your belief. Buddhist Monks set examples in Imperial China by sitting quietly in rich neighborhoods. When any misfortune befell any of the wealthy families, they tended to blame external powers, Heavenly wills, that had brought the praying Monks. Hence it is innate in Buddhist culture to provide Rice to any Monk. The Mahatma applied the identical concept in Indian, satyagraha, removing one Colonizer for a local version of the same, by allowing Heaven to reveal what is true, and what is just according to that truth. Osama bin Laden and Charles Manson perpetrated more grotesque forms of the same principle of protest, both of them hoping to provoke social disorder; neither sensitive enough to the already prevailing choatic condition of the world Mind. Greek Cities and Rome herself, fought off Protests and defended against Kidnappers and Bandits, so nothing special about modern America has raised this Coalition; it is a natural response taken by the Good to convert the Evil. I stress this point of conversion because I would love for all of us to celebrate these Olympics, united as one, and I remain open to the Organizers finally surrendering to all Protesters demands, particularly my demand for recognition of my Title, and affirmation of my claims. I stress repentence first, then grow your angels Wings.

I have declared Religion and the Market to be my targets. Both must be brought to heel, and come under Human control; neither may be permitted to control Humankind. I deem it legal for me to assume my rightful powers of ownership of the lands where the Olympics have all of their main events; I own Snauq, which is Downtown Vancouver. We have formally institutionalized the Chief Kitsilano Indian Band, and offer Indian Status Memberships to one and all, on terms of Potlatch. I am advertizing to land owners the privilege of bringing their land under my Title, and thereby resolving the outstanding issues of land ownership and use. No law needs to be created, and the means already exist in the Land Titles Act, to achieve in this Province an entirely novel political status based on the lack of power in any Province, to legislate for Indian Land; since the Province is all Indian Land, and my declaration that the whole Province is Indian Band Land, and all land is owned by my Title, cannot be contradicted by Canada, and must be upheld by all good judges in all good courts (Heaven is the final court).

I only belabor you with this recital, so that all will know on what ground Chief Kitsilano stands. The ultimate Protest is Conquest.

I invite a higher and a far deeper meditation on the events that will now gain Heaven's attention in the next month. The power of truth is enleashed when it becomes fully known and settled in the hearts of those who want only to do what is good. Think about that desire: the mantra of Olympic Organizers is, HELP US MAKE THE GAMES GOOD, so CANADA LOOKS GOOD ANDTHE STOREKEEPERS LOOK GOOD. This is all marketing, and that is the evil in it, deliberately designed to maintain market law over the simple law of the Human story. I know what makes me uncomfortable with the discourse about the past evils, is the amount that it drowns out my words. If Mr. Annet followed his tragedy with some catharsis it would be exultant, but we are dragged from one tirade into the streets with others, and not one word is heard about change.

Similar feelings emerge when I listen to other Poverty Priests, and Injection Proponents, and to those who just say "we are entitled to become a mob!" The Princess of Pigeon Park said: "It is the height of deceit to pretend to sympathize, but never change anything".

I avoid mobs and incline toward private devout belief in Heaven. Only my vision of Heaven, with Jesus there and all my ancestors, quietly counselling me, keeps me being me. If I can calm a riot I will (I have, and I actually solved Gustafsen Lake; see Wolverine), otherwise I support those whose duty it would be to destroy the mob, remembering that, of all whom mobs give credence to, the Police side would even invent one.

How did the cops get into the Cathedral?

Nation States came into being as large versions of successful Cities, and cities were originally markets authorized by Heaven. There was a time when no stranger would ever be seen by, or want to see, another stranger; Priests and Princes eventually offered enough security for trade and towns to grow into cities. The Common Law of Britain says: "No Cathedral, No Market." The terrible abuses perpetrated by Colonial Masters on Native victims, followed the design of "no Church, no rights" by defining our ancestors as Heathen and Pagan, in comparison to the Euro Deists and Humanists who worshipped Newton, Darwin, Freud and Marx. It would be necessary, in the Colonial Mind, to exert any cruelty possible as proof that Civilization must be accepted and adapted to by all, under the laws of the "Survival of the Most Fit to Survive". So when you quote an apology, and analogize an anal crisis, or when the Coalition calls out for marchers, we wait for you to lead us beyond the evil, to the safety and security that remains denied to us after you have had your moment of protest.

But I report to you that in my case there was always a deeper design, to destroy all memory of the Myth of Temlaham, which Chapter in BC History links all of this back to Egypt, Stonehenge, Athens and Jerusalem, and to Beijing. Another tale for another time.

As far as the coming Month, the World Story is best known as the Story told by, and about, Jesus Christ, and that gets rid of all the Euro trash about Religion and Nations.

Jesus was against the Market and predicts the end of the Nations. European history launched that demise.

And this my fellow Eagles (Matthew 24.28) brings this discussion to the last Institution standing, Potlatch.

Potlatch emulates, in one spatial context, the Hearth and the Hunt. The dictates of the home and of the hunting ground, are resolved in Potlatch. This is no more than the business of the successful hunting Band, to harmonize world ecology with the Village. I assume this finds consensus and leave off this discourse on the point. Potlatch is a kind of living, breathing, eating and dancing Wikipedia, with all the questions and all the people with all the answers, in one place (Internet anyone??).

Three Cheers for the Good.

Boo Evil.

sincerely,
Chief Kitsilano

To make this whole thing real ...

If Bill Phipps had have been sodomized, beaten mercilessly, sexually sterilized, or medically experimented on, and had his life destroyed, and struggled now as an incurable alcoholic or drug addict, would these words spoken by the ones who had so violated him be enough? Would he accept these words, or want something more? Like, maybe, justice?

What would Bill think when those who had harmed him were absolved from their crimes by "apologizing" to him?

If he, or you, would not accept such criminal hypocrisy, then why should a native person be any different?

50,000 children who died in these Christian internment camps cannot hear or read all the nice, lawyer-crafted phrases. Neither can the Creator.

Apologies cannot wipe away suffering. They are a way for the perpetrators to absolve themselves so they can continue to inflict harm.

Ask the women violated by United Church "Rev." Russell Crossley, who serially raped his congregants for over 30 years and was moved into parish after parish by United Church officials, who knowingly allowed this rapist to carry on. That came out in Crossley's trial in Victoria, BC in 1997 and 1998. Crossley did nine months in prison, was never defrocked, and resumed his "ministry", retiring in 2006.

Open your eyes, people. The united church is a murderous wolf in sheep's clothing - just like the anglicans and the catholics, and every group that think they're god and are above the law.

Will you be their next victim? Or your child?

"As Moderator of The United Church of Canada, I wish to speak the
words that many people have wanted to hear for a very long time. On
behalf of The United Church of Canada, I apologize for the pain and
suffering that our church's involvement in the Indian Residential
School system has caused. We are aware of some of the damage that this
cruel and ill-conceived system of assimilation has perpetrated on
Canada's First Nations peoples. For this we are truly and most humbly
sorry.

"To those individuals who were physically, sexually, and mentally
abused as students of the Indian Residential Schools in which The
United Church of Canada was involved, I offer you our most sincere
apology. You did nothing wrong. You were and are the victims of evil
acts that cannot under any circumstances be justified or excused.

"We know that many within our church will still not understand why
each of us must bear the scar, the blame for this horrendous period in
Canadian history. But the truth is, we are the bearers of many
blessings from our ancestors, and therefore, we must also bear their
burdens."

Our burdens include dishonouring the depths of the struggles of First
Nations peoples and the richness of your gifts. We seek God's
forgiveness and healing grace as we take steps toward building
respectful, compassionate, and loving relationships with First Nations
peoples.

We are in the midst of a long and painful journey as we reflect on the
cries that we did not or would not hear, and how we have behaved as a
church. As we travel this difficult road of repentance,
reconciliation, and healing, we commit ourselves to work toward
ensuring that we will never again use our power as a church to hurt
others with attitudes of racial and spiritual superiority.

"We pray that you will hear the sincerity of our words today and that
you will witness the living out of our apology in our actions in the
future."

The Right Rev. Bill Phipps
Moderator of The United Church of Canada
